I was born in Romania at the end of the 1970s when communism took an austere turn. The years until the revolution in 1989 had an extreme impact on my choice to make art. Because almost everything was defined by the shortage, except the beauty of nature and classical literature, I started to paint.

I began my art education in Romania at the age of 14 and I finished my master in decorative arts and design at the age of 23. After my

graduation moved to Denmark where I worked as a designer for the

following 10 years and I further extended my art education.

At the moment I am dedicating my full working time to painting and to innovating techniques in my studio in Hamburg. After all these years of experimenting, I feel that each medium is an endless pool of possibilities.

For the past two years, I have worked on the Mountain theme as in landscape from my memory. The mountains are a big part of my heritage, being born in the Romanian Carpathian.

Here, far from this form of extreme relief, living on flat land, I work with the inscape from the different angles of memory and projection. The memory of a landscape doesn’t record the changes of that particular land is going through and it preserves it as it was, as it should stay. There is a confrontation between how the climate changed the landscape and how we remember it at every encounter. And a new recording takes place.

My biggest inspiration is life itself and the exploration of the processes and cycles I observe.  Nature is an endless resource of joy and love for me but I am also influenced by Eastern philosophies, mythology, Gustav Jung, biology, and quantum physics.
